Who we are

One of Britain’s Leading Dual-Purpose Racehorse Trainers

In December 2023 Jamie Insole joined the license bringing knowledge of flat racing to Urloxhey Stables as the yard became dual-purpose.

Urloxhey Stables’ innovative approach to training has produced outstanding results with horses purchased at both the value and more expensive end of the market.

As they continue to enjoy success in jumps racing, the Urloxhey Stables team are very excited about achieving a high level success on the flat too.

Our philosophy

Renowned for transforming the form of horses

At Urloxhey Stables we believe in keeping horses happy and enjoying the routine.

Not only has Richard won the Grand National (Pineau De Re) and Coral Cup (Burntoakboy), he transformed the form of horses such as Vosne Romanee (winner of 12 races), Grand Sefton winner Beau Bay whose BHA rating rose from 102 to 142 after joining Richard’s yard, and Grade 2 winner Captain Tom Cat who was purchased by Richard for a very modest price.

Our facilities

Urloxhey Stables – our state of the art training facility

Urloxhey Stables is an innovative yard with fresh and new ideas overseen by our Director of Racing Dan Abraham, and our trainers Richard Newland and Jamie Insole. Urloxhey Stables embraces technology with horses being weighed regularly as well as equipment to monitor speed, heart rate and stride length.

Urloxhey provides a ‘happy home’ for the horses. With huge airy stables filled with ample bedding, the best feed and with 112 acres there is enough grazing for every horse to be turned out all day after exercise.

We invite you to become an owner at Urloxhey Stables and be part of our forward thinking approach.
